Lilac Ball 2009 Tops $2 Million
The 2009 Lilac Ball raised more than $2 million and attracted over 1,000 guests to the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel on Monday, June 8. The gala was a tribute to longtime Prep Trustee Ronald Blaylock, Managing Partner at GenNx360 Capital Partners, and to the 134 members of Prep’s high school Class of 2009. Former NBA stars Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, and Herb Williams were on hand to congratulate both the Honoree and the high school seniors.

Prep Alum Competes on Jeopardy
Kadeem Cooper (XXII/Poly Prep '06, Univ. of Virginia) will be one of only 15 college students nationally to compete on 'Jeopardy’s' 2009 College Championship. The show will air May 5th (showtimes can be found here).

Prep Alum, Champion of Health in East Harlem, Wins Double Honors
For years, Ray Lopez (XI/Dalton '95, Amherst '99), the Environmental Health Manager at LSA Family Health Service, quietly worked in the trenches helping the poorest residents of East Harlem combat a series of growing environmental health hazards there: some of the highest asthma rates in the nation, serious rodent and insect infestation, and dangerous mold. His efforts have been recognized with two prestigious honors in the last year.

Prep for Prep Students Suit Up for Success
On March 20, Project Pinstripe in collaboration with Prep for Prep hosted a one-day event to help young men dress for success. The group of high school seniors and undergraduates each received a fully custom-tailored suit and accessories, as well as an overview of sartorial etiquette and upkeep.

Prep Announces 2009 Lilac Ball Honoree
