Thank you for your interest in Prep for Prep. We are no longer accepting nominations for the 2012-13 academic year. Please check the website in September 2013 for updates. Below is an overview of our application process. Also, be sure to visit the Our Program section to gain a greater sense of all that Prep for Prep offers to its students. The application process varies depending on the grade level of the student.

Application Process
Step 1: Verifying Eligibility
Timeline: Fall-Winter
Review the nomination criteria for the child’s grade level (see left menu).

Step 2: Parent Information Meeting
Timeline: Fall-Winter

Parents of eligible children attend a mandatory meeting to learn more about the program, required testing, and selection process.

 

Evening and Saturday meetings are hosted in Manhattan; daytime meetings take place in public schools in each borough and at our Manhattan office.


Step 3: Application
Timeline: Fall-Winter
At the meeting, parents fill out an application and testing consent form.

Step 4: Group Test Session
Timeline: September-March
To measure academic aptitude and reading achievement, students take a 3.5 hour exam on a Saturday.

Step 5: Individual Test Session and Interview
Timeline: Winter-Spring
Students with qualifying scores on the first round of testing return for individual educational testing and interviews.

Step 6: Notification
Timeline: May
Families are notified whether their child will be offered a place in the program.
