Alumni Association: Year in Review

Launched last fall, the Prep for Prep Alumni Association is off to an impressive start. The eleven members of the Association’s leadership team and its three committees – Community Engagement, Personal & Professional Development, and Fundraising – worked with Prep’s Trustees, staff, and alumni to survey alumni needs and expand or implement several new initiatives.
Here are a few highlights from the Prep for Prep Alumni Association's inaugural year: 

December 2015
Relaunched a mobile-friendly, redesigned monthly alumni newsletter.

January 2016
Alumni Survey distributed to college graduate-age alums.

February 2016
Set up an online Events Calendar and Volunteer Portal to create an easy access point for events and increase volunteerism.

March 2016
Alums in Real Estate hosted a first-time homebuyers information session at Deutsche Bank.

Launched “Prep for Life Teleseminar Series” for professional coaching on navigating career transitions. Nearly 200 alums across the country can connect online for monthly alum-led workshops through December.

April 2016
New materials designed for Alumni Giving Campaign.

Phoneathons revamped as “Prep Connects!” events to combine fundraising with updates on the program.

May 2016
Ballstar co-hosted the Second Annual Prep Alumni Basketball Classic, held at Brooklyn Heights Montessori School.

Alum networking event “Spanning the Globe” raised funds for travel abroad opportunities for current students.

June 2016
Prep’s first-ever “Personal Financial Management” course launched for recent college graduates, underwritten by Prep Trustee Robin S. Krasny.

Upcoming events include the Young Alumni Summer Soirée on July 16th and the Alumni Association Town Hall on September 20th. We look forward to sharing more of the Association’s developments in the year ahead.
