Prep for Prep is a not-for-profit educational organization that identifies academically able, highly motivated youngsters from minority group backgrounds, provides 14 months of intensive academic preparation, places them in leading independent schools (day and boarding), and provides ongoing counseling, peer support, and leadership development opportunities until high school graduation. Prep's mission is to increase the number of well-educated, effective leaders from segments of the population grossly under-represented in leadership positions in American society. Over 1,000 students are currently in its two programs (Prep for Prep and PREP 9), not including about 609 alumni currently enrolled in college and over 714 college graduates.
