Alums Advance in Government

Public service is one of the top ten sectors that employs Prep alumni. Our alums work at all levels of government, from local to state to federal offices. This summer, two Prep alums assumed very prominent roles in government:

Nicole Isaac (XII/Fieldston '96, Brown '00) MA, Columbia '04; JD, Penn '04; MSt. Oxford '09 has been named Special Assistant to the President of the United States in the Office of Legislative Affairs.  Previously, Nicole served as Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs for Vice President Biden.

Before that, she held different legislative counsel positions in the House and Senate, and also worked at the State Department, the SEC, international law firms, and the Constitutional Court of South Africa.  She was named Young Attorney of the Year by the Washington Bar Association in 2009.

Kristen Clarke (P9 II/Choate '93, Harvard '97) JD, Columbia '00 will head the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office. Previously, she served as Co-Director of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund’s Political Participation Group. She was recently named one of the Nation’s Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers Under 40 and is the winner of the 2010 Paul Robeson Alumni Award from Columbia Law School.
