Prep for Prep Board member Harold Butler and Prep alumni met with several Minority Depository Institutions this month to discuss possible collaborations to create innovative programming for our students and support the Black community in finance.
In an unprecedented year of virtual campus visits, remote classes, and personal challenges, Prep’s high school seniors persevered and earned early acceptances to colleges around the country. Please join us in congratulating our students!
Top acceptances for the Class of 2021 so far include Bard (4 students), Brown (4), Cornell (4), Duke (3), Fordham (3), Loyola (3), University of Chicago (3), and Wesleyan (3).
This fall, Prep for Prep launched student affinity groups to provide post-placement students with opportunities to connect with their peers in supportive spaces. All groups are led by trained staff facilitators.
Through our Public Policy Internships Project (PPIP), 24 students learned about public service, the structure of local government, and the process by which public policy decisions are made. Our students combined classroom lessons with internships at advocacy organizations and with elected officials.
