Prep Welcomes Three New Trustees

Prep for Prep is delighted to welcome Yahonnes Cleary (P9 V), Kevin Ferro, and Richard Schaps to the Board of Trustees.
Prep for Prep’s Board of Trustees is passionate about supporting Prep’s mission through fundraising, generating internships, and creating leadership opportunities for our students. We are extremely fortunate to have a deeply loyal, generous, and involved Board and are grateful for their dedication and generous commitment of time and resources. Yahonnes Cleary
(P9 V/Choate '96, Columbia '00) MS, Oxford '02; JD, Yale '09
Partner; Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP
Yahonnes Cleary is a partner in the litigation department at Paul, Weiss where he represents clients in various industries in complex commercial litigation, regulatory matters, and internal investigations. He has substantial trial experience, including representing pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions, and other clients in high-stakes trials in federal and state court. He also maintains an active pro bono practice. 

While earning his JD at Yale, Yahonnes was President of its Black Law Students Association. He is the recipient of a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship, a Marshall Scholarship, a Harry S. Truman Scholarship, an NAACP Legal Defense Fund Scholarship, and a Congressional Black Caucus Scholarship. 

Kevin Ferro
Chief Executive Officer, Vatera Holdings LLC
Kevin Ferro is the Chief Executive Officer of Vatera Holdings LLC. Kevin has over two decades of investment experience, and has focused on biopharmaceutical investments for almost 15 years. Prior to forming Vatera, Kevin founded Ferro Capital LLC, an alternative investment firm managing portfolios for clients in the U.S. and Europe. 

Kevin is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jaharis Family Foundation, Inc. He holds an AB in Government from Harvard College. 

Richard Schaps 
Chairman & CEO, Van Wagner Group 
As Chairman & CEO, Richard Schaps oversees the operation and strategic direction of Van Wagner, one of the largest privately held participants in the sports advertising and venue services businesses in the United States and the owner of most of the blimps used for advertising purposes around the world. Under his direction, Van Wagner, which started as a small outdoor advertising business, grew into a well-known media business, credited with creating many of the most valuable signs in New York’s Times Square, London’s Piccadilly Circus, Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip, and Tokyo, among others. 

Richard is a board member of the Anti-Defamation League, Harlem Academy, and Free Arts NYC. A native of New York, he earned a degree in marketing from the University of Cincinnati School of Business Administration.
