Prep for Prep Announces 2019 Lilac Ball Honoree Paul J. Taubman of PJT Partners

Prep for Prep is pleased to announce Paul J. Taubman, Chairman and CEO of PJT Partners Inc., as its Lilac Ball Honoree for 2019. The Lilac Ball is Prep for Prep’s signature annual fundraising and student graduation event, to be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Sheraton New York.
Mr. Taubman founded PJT Partners in 2014 and in the past five years has built one of the fastest growing and most respected advisory-focused investment banks. Prior to founding PJT Partners Mr. Taubman spent nearly 30 years at Morgan Stanley in a series of increasingly significant leadership positions including Co-President of Institutional Securities.

Mr. Taubman has been a supporter of Prep for Prep for more than two decades. He and his wife, Danielle, have a son attending The Buckley School, where seven Prep students are also enrolled and from which 54 have graduated.

On a visit to Prep’s Preparatory Component classes, Mr. Taubman was deeply inspired by the enthusiasm and academic intensity of the students: “I was incredibly impressed by the extraordinary commitment each of the students displayed as they sought to build their skills in such a rigorous program. Seeing an 11-year-old speak complete sentences in Mandarin after only weeks of language study was just one example of how Prep for Prep expands horizons and enables talent to thrive. I look forward to celebrating their achievements at the Lilac Ball this June.”

“For his leadership in the financial services industry and in philanthropic commitments, we are thrilled to honor Mr. Taubman at the 2019 Lilac Ball,” said Aileen C. Hefferren, Prep for Prep’s Chief Executive. “We know talent without opportunity does not go far. With Mr. Taubman’s support, we can ensure the students in Prep for Prep access and utilize the tools needed to become leaders in whatever fields they choose to pursue.”

Mr. Taubman serves in a leadership role on numerous philanthropic efforts including Board President of New York Cares, New York City’s largest volunteer organization; Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory; Board Member of the Partnership for New York City; Advisory Council member at the Stanford Graduate School of Business; National Advisory Board Member of Youth, Inc.; and a Trustee of the Foundation for Empowering Citizens with Autism.

Mr. Taubman received his BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
