Prep for Prep CEO Joins Brooklyn Museum Board

Ruth Jurgensen, Prep for Prep’s Chief Executive Officer, recently joined the Brooklyn Museum’s Board of Trustees.
“We couldn’t be more delighted to have Ruth Jurgensen join our Board,” said Brooklyn Museum Director Anne Pasternak and Board Chairman Barbara Vogelstein in a statement. “Her deep knowledge of education and its critical role in promoting social justice dovetails perfectly with our mission. She will help us expand our reach in making art education accessible to all of our audiences.”

Ruth brings more than two decades of experience in education to the Board, including roles as Associate Principal at Francis W. Parker School and High School Principal at LREI (Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School). As a trustee, Ruth will lend support to the opportunities for learning that the Brooklyn Museum provides.

“I’m in love with the Brooklyn Museum and how inclusive, welcoming, and current it has always felt to me,” said Ruth. “It is an honor to serve on the Board of Trustees and support Anne Pasternak’s vision.”

In addition to supporting the museum’s educational efforts, Ruth wants to foster access to the museum for Prep for Prep’s students. “I want to support our students’ interest in art,” she said.

In addition to the Brooklyn Museum, Ruth is a trustee of Moorestown Friends School, LREI, Kura Labs, and The Dovetail Project.
