Johnny Skumpija Joins Prep for Prep's Board of Trustees

Prep for Prep’s Board of Trustees guides the organization with its generosity and insights. Members share a passion to fulfill Prep’s mission of developing future leaders by creating access for young people of color to first-rate educational, leadership development, and professional advancement opportunities. They support Prep through volunteering, fundraising, and providing leadership opportunities for our students. 

Prep’s newest trustee, Johnny Skumpija, is a trusted legal adviser to corporate clients, private equity sponsors, and financial institutions in a wide variety of capital markets matters. He has extensive experience with initial public offerings, direct listings and other equity financings, high-yield and investment-grade debt financings, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), special purpose acquisition company transactions, private equity matters, and liability management transactions. He also regularly advises clients with respect to governance, disclosure, and other general corporate matters. Clients look to Johnny for his sound, commercial, and practical advice and his ability to execute deals with creative and strategic thinking. 

Johnny’s diverse experience and knowledge in capital markets and M&A spans a broad spectrum of industries and sectors, including automotive, consumer, energy, healthcare, industrials, logistics and transportation, technology, and telecommunications.

Johnny has been repeatedly recognized for his work in the capital markets arena (including debt and equity) by Chambers Global (2020-2022), Chambers USA (2019-2022), The Legal 500 US (2013-2021), and IFLR1000 (2014-2021). In 2016, he was named a “Rising Star” by Law360, recognizing him as one of five outstanding capital markets lawyers in the nation under the age of 40.
