Position Summary:
Prep for Prep seeks one instructor for a rigorous, five-week intensive arts education and leadership development program for gifted high school students. Jointly organized by Prep for Prep and Sotheby’s, the Summer Art Academy will run from June 29 to July 31, 2026, Monday-Friday, 9 AM- 4 PM, comprising academic and professional development components. 

The Summer Art Academy will provide students with an overview of art history and theory and expose them to the vast array of professions in the art world. Coursework, activities, guest speaker lectures, and site visits are planned to prepare students for future internships in the field. 


Responsibilities:
The instructors will teach, in tandem, a proprietary curriculum to 18-25 rising high school sophomores, lead students on scheduled site visits, and report to Prep for Prep staff and representatives. 

Requirements:
  • Classroom experience with high school and or college students
  • Preferred: M.A. or M.F.A.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong instructional background, preferably as a course instructor and/or arts educator 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of art history and experience in the art world 
  • Flexibility and timely responsiveness 


Compensation: A competitive and generous stipend will be commensurate with experience—salary range: $9,000- 10,000.
