Students Advocating for Young Children (SAYC) is our signature community service opportunity for Prep students. It was launched by Prep students in 1992 as a children’s advocacy group to raise awareness of the plight of low-income children in New York City. Since 2009, the community service initiative has partnered with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and P.S. 188 to offer a Saturday Academy, an entirely volunteer-led enrichment program for high-need elementary school students.

My son came home from school and started his math homework. He quickly surveyed it and remarked, ‘This will be easy. This is just like the stuff I used to do at SAYC.’ Thanks again for inviting him to participate.
