Professional Advancement

Prep for Prep runs career-oriented initiatives and internships for our high school students and undergraduates, opening doors for them in a variety of industries. In addition to summer offerings, which include 240+ paid internships, 24 career seminars, 16 public policy projects, and the Institute for Entrepreneurship program, we also provide year-round resume writing workshops and professional coaching for our students.

  • 1. Resume Writing

    We teach students how to best present their experiences and skills, and revise resumes several times before submitting to potential employers. 
  • 2. Mock Interviews

    Staff, board members, and volunteers help students practice in-person and telephone interview skills.
  • 3. Business Bootcamp

    In partnership with Google, Prep's Institute for Entrepreneurship teaches the fundamentals of entrepreneurship to rising 9th and 10th grade students. The five-week course culminates in a business plan competition.
  • 4. Summer Internships

    Prep secures 240+ paid summer internships for our students each summer to build their professional skills and learn about different career industries.
  • 5. Career Networking

    Over 20 career exploration panels allow students to explore advertising, education, finance, technology, social services, and other industries.
