Prep Welcomes New Director of Admissions Johanna Rodriguez
Prep for Prep is pleased to welcome Johanna Rodriguez as its new Director of Admissions and member of Prep’s executive leadership team.
Johanna Rodriguez is Prep for Prep’s new Director of Admissions, where she will oversee the recruitment, testing, and admissions process for over 6,000 annual applicants to Prep and PREP 9. Johanna comes to us from New York’s Poly Prep Country Day School where she was Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid. A Brooklyn native, Johanna is an alumna of Poly, which currently has 40 Prep students enrolled and is second only to Trinity School in that number. Having returned to the school in 2009 to work full time, Johanna held positions of increasing responsibility in the Admissions Office focusing on the middle and upper schools. In addition to serving on Poly's Administrative Council, she coached JV Softball and co-taught Senior Leadership, a senior elective class which a number of Prep students have taken over the years. Johanna earned her undergraduate degree from Williams College, where she captained the Varsity Softball team, and her Masters in School Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
“Prep for Prep is recognized not only in New York City, but has a strong national reputation for its educational model and its commitment to developing leaders of color,” said Johanna. “As a woman of color who has experienced what mentorship and education has done for me, I am eager to be part of an organization that dedicates itself to ensuring more students of color are given access to great independent schools and opportunities for leadership.”
