This fall, we welcomed six new Board of Trustees members and three new Associates Council members to Prep for Prep. Among our newly elected members are two Prep alumni.

Board of Trustees
Catherine Cole
Catherine Cole is a senior portfolio manager in the Financial Institutions Group at BlackRock. She manages fixed income portfolios for insurance clients, with an additional focus on sustainable investing. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2012, Catherine was an associate at Goldman Sachs and began her career as an analyst at UBS. Catherine earned a BA degree in Political Science from Yale University in 2007, and is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy.
Lorence Kim
Lorence Kim, M.D. is a Venture Partner at Third Rock Ventures. He previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Moderna, raising $4.4 billion of capital for the company and deploying resources to discover and advance a pipeline of 24 development candidates across infectious disease, oncology, rare disease and autoimmune disease, including the Moderna COVID vaccine.
Lorence joined Moderna after an investment banking career at Goldman Sachs. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Seres Therapeutics from October 2014 to June 2020, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Flare Therapeutics and Abata Therapeutics. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross.
Lorence graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. in biochemical sciences. He earned an MBA in healthcare management as a Palmer Scholar from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine.
Julian Liau
Julian Liau is a Managing Director and Chief Controls Manager for the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) at J.P. Morgan as well as CFO of the CIB Risk Management division. He is a member of the Firmwide Controls Management leadership team, CIB Risk management team and the CIB F&BM management team.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Julian was a Vice President and head of the New York office for The Johnsson Group. He previously served as the Director of Business Development for M2card Financial Solutions, and a manager in the Interactive Strategy Division at American Express. Julian began his career at Salomon Brothers, where he was a Vice President in the Global Corporate Bond Research Group.
Julian has served as the Chair of the Board of Apex for Youth. He was also Treasurer and served on the board of Womankind. In 2008, Julian received the Caring for Children Award from the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families.
Julian holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University, and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, where he was an Austin Scholar. He is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and serves as an alumni fundraiser for the school.
Racquel Oden
As Managing Director and Head of National Sales, Racquel Oden is responsible for servicing 20 million customers in more than 4,700 branches in 48 states with 40,000 employees driving strategic initiatives for JPMorgan Chase’s Consumer Bank. In her previous role, she was the Northeast Division Director, overseeing the firm’s Consumer Banking and Wealth Management businesses. In support of the firmwide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitment, Racquel participates in several of JPMorgan Chase’s employee resource groups and the Black Executive Forum.
Racquel was an executive member at Merrill Lynch, where she spent eight years in several leadership roles. Before Merrill Lynch, Ms. Oden spent more than ten years at UBS in various senior capacities. She took her first Wall Street job as an associate in equity trading at Morgan Stanley in 1997.
Racquel recently received the Savvy Lady Award for Professional Excellence in Finance, Women of Influence Spirit of Philanthropy Award, and the Long Island Business News Executive Circle Award. She was named among the 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business by the Network Journal in 2016 and one of the Top 10 People to Watch by Wealth Management Magazine in 2015.
Racquel serves on the Board of Directors for the Apollo Theater, and the National Board of Directors for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Racquel holds a B.A. in Political Science from James Madison University and an M.B.A. from Hampton University.
Natasha Rivera (XXV)
Natasha Rivera (XXV) was born in Queens and still hasn’t left. Interested in the intersection between liberation and education, her professional and personal experience crosses the fields of mentoring, college access, leadership development and diversity, equity and inclusion work. A proud first-generation Wildcat, Natasha graduated from Davidson College in 2012. In May 2018, she graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she was awarded the Intellectual Contribution Award for the Education Policy and Management program, and was selected to be an Equity and Inclusion Fellow.
Natasha is currently the Associate Director for Civic Engagement and Social Justice at Eugene Lang College of The New School, where she is responsible for developing social justice programming and strategy for students, faculty and staff. Natasha is also a member of the Prep for Prep Alumni Council.
Charles F. Stewart
Charles F. Stewart joined Sotheby’s as Chief Executive Officer in October 2019. Prior to Sotheby’s, Mr. Stewart served as Co-President and Chief Financial Officer of Altice USA. Charles joined Altice USA after two decades of banking and finance experience spanning the U.S., Latin America and Europe. During his seven years based in London, he served as CEO of Itaú BBA International plc, the international arm of Itaú Unibanco, the largest bank in Latin America. Prior to that, he spent 19 years in investment banking at Morgan Stanley in various client and leadership roles, including as Deputy Head of Investment Banking for EMEA, Head of Latin America Investment Banking, and member of the global investment banking management committee.
He is a graduate of Yale University. He serves on the boards of the Coalition for College and the Partnership for New York City.
Associates Council
Wei Wayne Miao (VI)
Wei Wayne Miao (VI) grew up on the lower east side of Manhattan (near Chinatown). He attended Collegiate School (1990), Columbia University (1994), and University of Pennsylvania Law School (1999). He is a corporate lawyer and specializes in asset management law, including representing mutual funds and private funds. He has worked at Sidley, Oppenheimer, Allianz and AIA and currently works for Galaxy Digital.
Daniel Ogunlowo
Daniel Ogunlowo is an associate at Kelso & Co., a New York City-based private equity firm. Prior to joining Kelso & Co. in 2020, he spent the preceding two years at J.P. Morgan as an Investment Banking Analyst within its Diversified Industries Group. He also spent the preceding two summers as an intern within the same group at J.P. Morgan.
Daniel grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and attended the University of Maryland, College Park where he received his bachelor’s degree in Finance. He is extremely passionate about diversity recruiting, student development and mentoring students seeking career opportunities in various fields.
Amanuel “Amani” Teshome
Amanuel “Amani” Teshome currently serves as Vice President at Greenhill on their Private Capital Advisory team. Prior to Greenhill, Amani was a Vice President at Mercury Capital Advisors on the Project Management and Origination team. Amani joined Mercury as an Associate in 2019. Prior to joining Mercury, Amani worked for Protocol Capital Management on the Deal Origination and Distribution teams covering institutional investors in North America and Europe.
Amani holds a Bachelor of Science in Management with double concentrations in Finance and Marketing from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. While at Boston College, Amani was a member of the Undergraduate Student Government and the Young Alumni Fundraising committee.
