Trinity School: Lower School Head Teachers (NY, NY)


Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks Lower School Head Teachers beginning September 2024.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to education (Master’s degree preferred) and at least three years of experience in Lower School teaching. Strong candidates will possess:
  • A demonstrated love of children;
  • A joyful dedication to education that holds high standards for children’s intellectual growth;
  • An empathy for the current complexities of the social-emotional lives of children;
  • A demonstrated attention to how race, gender, religion, socio-economic status and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the classroom;
  • Experience creating Social Studies and Language Arts curriculum where all children can see themselves reflected in the program while simultaneously developing a curiosity about the people, the physical world and the structures around them;
  • Experience with mathematics where children feel challenged by grappling with difficult, deep problems;
  • A pedagogy where inquiry is center;
  • Interactive, adaptive classroom management skills which both facilitate order and learning while respecting the dignity of children;
  • A belief in partnerships with families;
  • An ability to work collaboratively and generously with colleagues, both on the team and across the division;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and
  • An optimistic, purposeful work ethic.

Salary range: $64,750 - $156,940 (salary based upon experience)
