Trinity School: Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving (NY, NY)


Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a seasoned professional to serve as its Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving, starting July 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will have a background in major gift/lead gift/principal gift fundraising, experience in planned giving, and will be excited by the prospect of working in a fast-paced and high-performing Advancement office. A successful track record of soliciting and closing five figure and higher gifts is required, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Success managing volunteers and working closely with school leadership are key. The Director will be expected to maintain a portfolio of at least 50 high-capacity donors and prospective donors and availability to travel outside the New York City area as well as for evening and weekend meetings and events is necessary. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or similar constituent management software systems is a plus. While not remote, this position may lend itself to hybrid working arrangements. The Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving will report to the Associate Head of School for Advancement and Operations and will work closely with the Director of Development and with colleagues in annual giving, alumni engagement, and advancement services. Founded in 1709, Trinity School is the oldest continuously operating independent school in New York and one of the oldest schools in the country. Co-educational since 1971 and enrolling just over 1,000 students in grades K-12, the school has approximately 750 current families and 6,500 alumni of record spanning graduating classes from the late 1930s to the present. While approximately 75% of alumni live and work in the northeast United States, Trinity alumni live in all US states and around the world working in all professional sectors.

Starting Salary Range: $105,000-$135,000 (salary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and expertise). The starting date for this position is July 1, 2024.
