Trinity School: Admissions Officer/Child Assessor, Grades K-4 @ .7 Time (NY, NY)


Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks an early childhood professional to assess the readiness of candidates applying to Kindergarten. This position is seasonal from mid-September to mid-January and reports to the Director of Admissions, Grades K-4.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and write up Kindergarten child assessments;
  • Occasionally conduct and write up assessments for candidates applying to Grades 1-4;
  • Collaborate with faculty members to review and update assessments;
  • Conduct occasional pre-school visits throughout New York City to observe candidates;
  • Assist with in-house group play sessions through observation and interaction with candidates; and
  • Serve on the admissions committee.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in education is required;
  • A minimum of two years of early childhood or lower school experience, preferably in an independent school setting;
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team;
  • Strong organizational skills are required;
  • Proficiency with technology and software applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; and
  • Warm, personable, reliable, flexible, positive, and patient person.
Qualified candidates will have prior experience working with children in a classroom setting. They will be reliable, responsible, warm, personable, and understand the importance of flexibility when working with young children.

Salary range: $26,000 - $32,000 (salary based upon experience)
