Meet Prep for Prep's New Director of Mental Wellness
Alejandro Luciano (P9 I) comes back to Prep in a new role.
Alejandro Luciano (P9 I) returns to Prep for Prep as our Director of Mental Wellness. His background in psychology and clinical social work combined with his personal experience as a PREP 9 alum make him especially suited for the role. This isn't the first time Alejandro has returned to Prep as a staff member. He previously served as a Preparatory Component Guidance Counselor for PREP 9 students nearly twelve years ago. Now, as Director of Mental Wellness, Alejandro is focused on expanding the network of supports currently provided to students in Prep for Prep’s educational and leadership programs and deepening Prep’s partnership with parents.
At a recent alumni event hosted by the Prep Wellness Network, Alejandro expressed his excitement in entering this new role. "This is the first instance I know of in which Prep has so visibly emphasized the importance of wellness as a guiding principle in how students learn, develop and relate to the world around them. When I learned what Prep was planning and realized that I, in my capacities as a mental health professional and as an alum of the program, could have a hand in shaping these efforts, I jumped at the opportunity."
