Dan-el Padilla Peralta's (XVIII/Collegiate '02, Princeton '06) MA, Oxford '08; PhD, Stanford '14 memoir, "Undocumented: A Dominican Boy’s Odyssey from a Homeless Shelter to the Ivy League," was hailed by the L.A. Times as one of summer's "must-read" nonfiction books and reviewed favorably by the New York Times. Dan-el is currently a Fellow and Lecturer in Classics at Columbia and will be an Assistant Professor of Classics at Princeton in 2016.
Michael Fortner's (P9 VI/Andover '97, Emory '01) PhD, Harvard '09 book, "Black Silent Majority: The Rockefeller Drug Laws and the Politics of Punishment" was reviewed by a range of media outlets including The New Yorker and was a New York Times Editor's Choice in October. Michael is Assistant Professor and Academic Director of Urban Studies at CUNY SPS.
