Major League Soccer: Licensing Manager (MLS & US Soccer)

Overview:
The Licensing Manager will be responsible for the development and growth of various product categories for both MLS and U.S. Soccer. This role is looking for energetic leaders, with a product background, that thrive in collaborative, creative, fast paced environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in achieving the annual revenue budget for the Consumer Products Department
  • Participate in developing regional and global product strategies to grow MLS, U.S. Soccer and all other SUM managed properties
  • Within select licensed categories:
    • Negotiate, execute and manage license agreements to achieve product, distribution and revenue objectives
    • Effectively influence all aspects of licensee’s product creation cycle, from contract to development to sell-in
    • Analyze sales trends by partner, category, channel of distribution, and territory in order to recommend actionable growth strategies
    • Track and manage all phases of product submissions and approvals
    • Manage process to market, seed and grow exposure of key items
    • Support internal marketing and retail development strategies
  • Identify new licensing opportunities to fill product gaps
  • Collaborate with internal marketing, sponsorship, retail development, legal and finance departments

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
 Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-8+ years of experience in licensing, retail or brand management
Desired Skills
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
