Announcing Prep for Prep's New Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships
Meet long-time Prep for Prep colleague Rebecca Ervey who has been promoted to Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships.
Prep for Prep is pleased to announce that our long-time colleague, Rebecca Ervey, has been promoted to Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships, and will serve as an executive staff member overseeing fundraising for the organization. Many in the Prep community already know Rebecca from her former role as Director of Professional Advancement, where she led the creation of over 4,500 paid internships with several hundred companies in close collaboration with Prep’s Alumni, Board of Trustees, and Associates Council members. She has earned a reputation as a masterful relationship connector with meticulous follow-through, who speaks with expertise on the impact of Prep, having worked directly with thousands of students and alumni over the past fifteen years. Rebecca is eager to bring that same dedication to leading the Development team, and looks forward to continuing to strengthen relationships and gain new support with individuals and institutions whose values align closely with Prep’s mission.
Rebecca first joined Prep’s Professional Advancement team in 2006, then briefly left in 2017 to serve as the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives for Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) to fundraise and build partnerships on a national scale. She oversaw the successful launch of their career and alumni programming, including a revenue generating four-day career conference. Prior to Prep and LEDA, Rebecca managed technology programs across CUNY schools, developing internships with early stage start-ups and helping to build a tech incubator. She also spent years in Seattle, Washington, where she focused on workforce development initiatives including managing federal and state grant programming at the community college level.
Rebecca is a graduate of New York University and lives in Brooklyn with her husband, David, and two children. Congratulation, Rebecca, on your new role!
