Prep for Prep Celebrates College-Bound Seniors on National College Signing Day
Members of the Class of 2025 are headed to some of the nation’s top institutions, including Brown, Cornell, Harvard, Lehigh, Tufts, Washington University in St. Louis, Williams, and Yale.
On Thursday, May 1, the garden of Prep for Prep’s 71st Street brownstone came alive with school spirit as students and staff donned college gear to celebrate the college acceptances of the Class of 2025. The festive event, hosted by the College Guidance and Undergraduate Affairs departments, was held in honor of National College Signing Day, a tradition launched by former First Lady Michelle Obama and her Reach Higher initiative to recognize and uplift high school seniors as they take the next step in their academic journeys.
This year’s seniors will matriculate to some of the nation’s most prestigious colleges, with Brown, Cornell, Harvard, Lehigh, Tufts, Washington University in St. Louis, Williams, and Yale representing the schools with the highest number of Prep for Prep acceptances.
The celebration included games, refreshments, and heartfelt moments of reflection. Interim CEO Jackson A. Collins (XII), Director of Leadership Development Opportunities Cindy Perez, Director of Undergraduate Affairs Corey Rhoades, and Undergraduate Affairs Officers Michael Osei (XXXIII) and Nachary Hernandez Novas offered inspiring remarks, blending words of encouragement with practical wisdom to prepare students for the road ahead.
Prep for Prep’s commitment to its students extends well beyond the classroom. Throughout the college application process, seniors and their families receive personalized guidance—from campus visits to financial aid counseling—courtesy of Director of College Guidance Shari Fallis and Assistant Director of College Guidance Karen Alonzo (XXIII). Once students begin college, the Undergraduate Affairs team provides ongoing support through one-on-one advising, academic enrichment, and peer networking opportunities.
We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2025 for their dedication, resilience, and achievements. As they head off to college, we look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in the years to come.
